    Wine clubs

Create a wine club on the web, invite members or let them request to join, post announcements and wine offers, print member prices on a wine card, and follow a club in the app.

    Quick answer

    • On the web, open Wine Clubs in the menu and choose Create Club. Creating and running a club happens on the web.
    • A club is Private (members join by invitation) or Public (listed under Discover, people request to join).
    • Members read the club's posts and wine offers on the web or in the app, under Community, then Clubs.
    • A member discount set on the club can print member prices on a wine card linked to it.
    • Vinius does not take club orders or payments. An offer shows the wine, the member price and the stock.

    What a club is

A wine club belongs to your organization. You use it to keep a group of guests, regulars or fellow collectors informed: tasting evenings, new arrivals, bottles offered at a member price.

Each club has a name, a description and a category, Wine Club or Investment Club. An organization can run up to five clubs, and every club name is unique across Vinius.

When an organization runs more than one club, membership covers all of them. Someone who joins one of your clubs sees the others as well.

    Creating a club

    1. Open Wine Clubs and choose Create Club.
    2. Fill in Club name and Description, then pick the Category.
    3. Choose the Visibility. A new club starts as Private.
    4. Set the Member limit (50 unless you change it, up to 50,000).
    5. Optionally fill in Shipping countries, which members see as Ships To, and a Member discount (%).
    6. Tick Allow members to invite others if members may bring in people themselves. Auto-approve join requests works for public clubs only.
    7. Choose Create club.

The club appears under My Clubs. Manage opens it with three tabs: Settings, Members and Announcements. Everything you filled in can be changed later on Settings.

    Bringing in members

Invite by email. On Members, under Invite people to your club, paste one or more email addresses, add a personal message if you like, and choose Send invites.

    • Someone who already uses Vinius gets a notification in the app and an email with a link to the club, and accepts on the club page.
    • Someone new gets an email, confirms, and Vinius sets up a personal account for them.

Pending invitations stay in the list with Resend and Cancel.

Let people request to join. A public club is listed under Discover on the web and in the app. People there choose Request to join on the web, or Join This Club in the app. Their request lands under Join Requests, where you Approve or Reject it. With Auto-approve join requests on, they are in at once.

Share a join link. For a public club, Shareable Join Link has Generate QR Code & Link. Put the link in a newsletter or print the QR code for a tasting evening. Whoever opens it fills in a name and email address, and the request waits under Join Requests for your approval. Regenerate replaces the link.

When the club reaches its member limit, new members cannot join until you raise it.

    Running the member list

Each member has a role in the club: Owner, Admin, Manager or Member. Admins and managers help run the club, with the same tabs you see. Members read the posts and offers.

    • Change a role in the Role column. Only the owner or an admin can make someone an admin.
    • The owner's role is fixed, the owner cannot be removed, and nobody changes their own role.
    • Send a message opens a direct message to that member in Vinius.
    • Remove from club takes someone out. They lose the feed and the offers, and can request to join again.

    Announcements and wine offers

On Announcements, New Announcement opens the editor. Pick a category: General, Event or Wine Offer.

A wine offer starts from Select Wine, which searches your own inventory. Then fill in:

    • Member price: what members pay. With a member discount on the club, a button such as Apply 10% fills it in: the regular price minus the discount.
    • Regular price: members see it struck through next to the member price.
    • Purchase price: your cost. Members never see it.

Under Publishing, choose Draft, Publish now or Schedule with a date and time. Pin to top of the feed keeps an announcement first in the list.

Notify members sends the announcement by email, as a push notification, or both. It always appears in the club feed either way. Only members who allow news notifications receive these, and a club can send at most three of them in any seven days.

Members can like and comment on a post. As someone who runs the club, you can delete a comment.

Member prices on a wine card

The Member discount (%) on a club can print member prices on a wine card.

    1. Open the wine card and, in its settings, choose the club under Wine club.
    2. The card now prints every selling price minus the club's discount, glass prices included, rounded the way your pricing rules round.

A club card cannot be public, so member prices stay with the people you hand the card to. With no club selected, No club (regular prices), the card shows your usual prices. See Managing wine cards.

    As a member

In the app, open Community and then Clubs. Joined Clubs lists your clubs and Discover the public ones, with a search field.

    • Invited? The club page shows Accept Invite and Decline.
    • A club page has two tabs. Wine Offers lists the offers with the member price, the discount and what is in stock. Posts holds the announcements, which you can like, comment on and share.
    • After a rejected request or a removal, Request to Join Again sends a new request.

On the web, open Wine Clubs. The club page shows the club's details, the announcements and, when you are invited, Accept Invitation.

Creating a club is not possible in the app. Create a Club there points you to the web.

    Who can do this

In a business organization, clubs are for owners, admins and managers. Staff and viewers have no Wine Clubs in the menu on the web. The app still shows them the Clubs tab, but it stays empty in that organization.
